Some weeks I have it all together and some weeks I just don’t my friends. This week, I am the latter. It’s been super busy in terms of social things and projects, but work…I am not doing my best. Here is hoping the next two days are “Pro to the Ductive.” I’m so excited today to FINALLY share the progress on our mudroom decor. Remember when I was doing the ORC (here, here)? Yea, I failed at that. It was my first time and because of COVID, a lot of weeks got cancelled and honestly, I just couldn’t keep up while also chasing a two year old, so consider this my “big reveal” that still isn’t quite finished. Maybe I’ll try again this fall.
Anyways….we’ve done a lot to this room from where we started, so let’s just take a look where that was.
Our Mudroom Decor
The first step was to build up the bench, re-add back the quarter round that was never reinstalled and replace the top of the bench. Once all of these things were done came the fun part: hanging wallpaper! I chose this pinstriped version from Livette’s Wallpaper. I am SO in love with so many prints from her site and many of the prints also come in remove-able option (ours is traditional wallpaper that needs paste). I think her site is by far one of my favorites I’m come across in terms of quality and variety.
I knew I wanted something simple, but something that would make a big statement and this Minimal Stripe was the ticket. Once it was hung, it literally changed the WHOLE ROOM and I immediately love it! Next it was just adding back our little command center (which I use every day) and painting the door black into the garage. I still need to paint the closet doors across from the room (I added a pic below, just so you could visualize, but it’s nothing special), but for now, they’re fine! I also spray painted the girls dog bowls black because the white was getting so dirty, such an easy fix that makes a big impact!
This room is SO different now which makes me happy because we literally step into it daily to either get into the house from the garage, read the command center, etc. Guest don’t often see this room, but I believe in making the spaces you use enjoyable, even if only for you!
I linked everything above, but please let me know if I forgot something. Again, paper is from Livette’s Wallpaper. If you’re looking for a great source for paper (traditional or peel and stick), look no further!
