Hi friends, how was everyone’s long weekend? Ours was pretty tame since Aaron worked every day, but he did manage to make some great progress on P’s playhouse and we were able to get together for some games with friends. I’ll consider it a success, especially since last night’s storms didn’t produce a tornado in our area (I am SO scared of tornadoes).
I haven’t shared a lot of master bedroom remodel ideas or a complete reveal with y’all because I feel like there is so much this room still needs, but we’re slowly making progress and recently got some items from one of my favorite brands to collaborate with, Safavieh. I posted some items from our Living Room reveal here and have just loved everything I’ve ever purchased under the label. I just got P a new rug made by them and am looking forward to seeing it paired with her wallpaper.
Master Bedroom Remodel Ideas
Just for fun, here is what the Master looked like in our listing photos:
Oy, so much better! When we first moved in we obviously painted the room completely and then just brought our stuff in. There is a long cooridor to our master bathroom (where the closets and a vanity are) that we switched the lighting in, but the main part of the room just got the usuals: paint, furniture, curtains.
Nothing had changed until we recently switched out the mirror above Aaron’s dresser to this Sunburst version and it takes up so much more space, which I love– it seemed a little bare before. The other one we had seemed a bit small and I may put it in the babies room, sell it or save it for when we finish the basement off. We also switched our old rug to this this Safavieh option and I love it SO much more. I like to play musical rugs in our house and Aaron hates me for it, there is nothing worse than moving a King sized mattress and bed to lay a new rug haha but this one goes so much better and softens the room.
My next tackle was the sitting area. Our master is large and I wanted a space to relax/read or dream about reading in haha Long term, I want to switch these chairs out, but for now, they are comfy and soft. However, what did need to go was the matching ottoman, it was all just too “matchy.” We opted for this Safavieh ottoman and I love it. I almost selected the navy, but decided to go with the taupe just in case I ever change up my color scheme (probably wont because navy is so classic, but ya know!). I also added a few more accessories on the table and a lamp behind the chair and it made all the difference. The horse picture is sadly being replaced (it will go somewhere else) and I’m looking forward to seeing this little nook come together!
Our nightstand are old, but also from Safavieh and I still adore their size and functionality. They’re a little smaller than a normal nightstand for a master, so we opted for the hanging wall sconces in lieu of bedside table lamps.
These few pieces have really transformed the space and it’s feeling more and more like “me” with every added touch! Here is what we’d still like to do to this space:
- Replace Ceiling Fan
- Hardwood Floors (down the road)
- New bed/New floor mirror (there is another dresser/floor mirror opposite the bed)
- New bench or ottomans at foot of bed (I used these from downstairs)
I’ve linked everything in this space below, if I missed something, just ask!
As you can see, nothing too major, minus the flooring which will be a few years down the road when the carpet gives out! Now, before P wakes up, I might try to use those comfy chairs and drink some warm coffee!
